Asda has announced a brand new discount for some workers to get a 10% discount across all UK stores.
NHS, emergency services, social services and social workers, as well as members of the armed forces, will be able to take advantage of the discount if they have a Blue Light Card.
A blue light card offers members of the NHS, emergency services, social care and armed forces discounts at retailers.

The 10% Asda discount includes George and Optical and is open to UK residents aged 16 or over, although it is only available in store.
It cannot be redeemed on any of the following: Asda tires, fuel, alcohol, tobacco, lottery products, gift vouchers and cards, baby formula, cash back, fireworks, online games and instant tickets, printing photos, discount stamps, postage stamps, “rechargeable” mobile phone cards, any other online financial services and insurance, or pharmacy and separate concessions.
Blue Light cardholders will also be required to provide identification which will be verified at checkout to validate that they are the Blue Light cardholder.

Taking to Facebook to share the news, Asda wrote: “We are pleased to announce that from midnight tonight (May 20) workers in the NHS, emergency services, social services, social care sector and the armed forces will be able to get a 10% discount at all Asda stores in the UK when they present their Blue Light Card.
“Food and non-alcoholic beverages, George clothing and household goods, toys, gifts and optical are all included in the offer. Blue Light cardholders will receive their discount by presenting their card and proof of payment. photo ID at checkout.”
