TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Following the Year of Tourism and Reviving Creative Economy, the Creative Hub of Indonesia Hidden Heritage (IHH) hosted a virtual tourism festival of Indonesia Hidden Heritage Week (IHHW) 2021 . There are various events to promote history and culture tourism.
âA show of historical and cultural products in the form of a festival will be of interest in itself compared to other destinations such as nature and religious tours,â said the founder and executive. Director of the IHH Nofa Farida Lestari on Tuesday October 26, 2021.
According to Nofa, the historical and cultural attachment of a site has its own uniqueness to visit. The festival also works to accommodate this.
âIn addition, the IHHW offers an aesthetic experience of discussion and education in historical culture to the government and the people,â Nofa said.
Therefore, it organizes various activities that represent the richness of heritage through webinars, talk shows and virtual tours that showcase World Heritage sites in Indonesia, nostalgic trips to former offices as well as destinations potential in the outer islands. The IHHW 2021 also helps to add more knowledge through sharing sessions with the director of the Westfries Museum in the Netherlands, the director of the National Museum and Research Center in Altamira in Spain and the curator of the National Railway Museum Australia.
From October 21 to 30, he will organize several activities such as a webinar titled âWorld Heritage Sites in Indonesiaâ, a virtual tour of the âOmbilin Coal Mine Siteâ and âCulinary Exploration of Papuaâ. Talkshow: âLive Museum & Gallery Conversation: Post Museum with Loveâ on @indonesiahiddenheritage’s Instagram, Zoom: âStories from Indonesia’s 10 Oldest Post Officesâ, âCommunity Gathering: Browse your city’s heritage â, and IG Live: Amateur Talk: Indonesia’s Most Unique Stamps and Postcardsâ at @indonesiahiddenheritage, âOnline Workshop: Heritage Sketching Courseâ and âWatch Letter from love for Kartini â.
Judi Wahjudin, Director of Development and Cultural Institute, declares that the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) fully supports the IHHW 2021. âWe provide our support because fundamentally, these heritages are goods of the world and are recognized by UNESCO for use as references. “
Meanwhile, the director of Tourism Products and Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) event organizer Handayani Mustafa said development of historic sites is one of Kemenparekraf’s top priorities. “The heritages must be preserved because they contain historical and educational values. We hope that the cities of Indonesia can have characters based on their heritages.”
