Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz issued a stern warning of the dangers of teaching critical race theory in schools and the military on “Watters’ World” on Saturday.
“I think that wakes up a lot of people,” said Cruz. “They’ve been living their lives, raising their kids, and suddenly they find out that their local school is teaching them that America is fundamentally racist, that all white people are racist, that every problem we have in America is all about us fighting on a racial basis that whites and blacks hate each other and must hate each other, and this is all a lie.
A growing movement of parents is becoming more politically active against the CRT program taught in the education system. Cruz introduced the Ensuring Non-Discrimination by Defunding Critical Race Theory Act earlier this week, which would block federal funding for teaching critical race theory in the workplace.
“The federal government does not have the right to impose a political program on Americans, especially one that aims to demolish our institutions and divide us on the basis of race,” said Cruz. “I introduced a law that says you can’t spend a dime of federal money teaching critical race theory in the federal government.”
Republicans actively repelled the academic movement to reach the local, state, and national levels.
“It is not the job of the federal government to try to indoctrinate the employees, to try to indoctrinate our male and female fighters. It is the job of the federal government to fulfill its responsibilities when it s. ‘the army is about to keep us safe and defend this nation,’ added Cruz.
